Original Tale of The Little Mermaid

In contrast to Disney’s adaptation, Hans Christian Andersen’s original Little Mermaid story was tragic when it was first published in 1837. The protagonist of the tale is a young mermaid who turns 15 and is given the opportunity to spend a year living among humans. She sees a prince having a birthday party at sea as soon as she breaks the surface and immediately falls in love with him. The mermaid saves the prince during a storm on the ship, but she departs before he awakens.

The mermaid strikes a deal with the sea witch to become human in exchange for her lovely voice because she longs for the prince. The contract is that if the prince weds someone else, she would lose her life. The mermaid, who is now a human with legs, is adored by the prince, but he does not fall in love with her. He eventually consents to marry a princess, believing falsely that she was the person who previously saved him.

Heartbreak overtakes the mermaid. Before she passes away, her sisters walk up to her and tell her they have made another pact with the sea witch. They give the mermaid an enchanted knife and tell her that if she kills the prince, she would be able to turn back into a mermaid. The mermaid can’t kill the prince because she loves him too much. She passes away and becomes sea foam. She becomes ethereal as a result of her sacrifice, and one day she will ascend to the sky.

The Story of the Anime Bubble

It is made abundantly evident throughout the movie, Bubble is a retelling of The Little Mermaid (1937).

Why do bubbles exist? What was the Tokyo Bubble Event?

In my opinion, there is a parallel universe in which bubbles are actual living things. Almost impossible to believe, no? Also, merpeople are. The phrase “Our Milky Way galaxy will collide with Andromeda in around 4.5 billion years” appears in the movie. Similar to this, Tokyo just so happens to be the epicentre of the collision between the bubble world and ours. There’s more; first, the bubbles became enraged.

Uta is who or what?

Uta is a person in a bubble. In this tale, she is the mermaid. She has been pursuing Hibiki because she loves him. Yet, unlike The Little Mermaid, this is not a monogamous love story.

So who is Hibiki? Why don’t his ears work? Does he play a role in Tokyo’s devastation?

A youngster named Hibiki lives in Tokyo and has incredibly delicate ears. In this tale, he is the royal. Hibiki first hears Uta’s voice prior to the Tokyo tragedy as she sings (thanks to his sharp hearing). They meet atop the tower and connect. When there is an explosion a short while later, Uta saves Hibiki. Hibiki and Uta’s apparent attempts at communication appear to enrage the bubbles, which causes them to explode across Tokyo.

Tokyo becomes engulfed in a massive bubble and is flooded by the breaking of bubbles as the bubbles stop dropping everywhere else. Also, this interference affects Tokyo’s entire gravitational field. Did Hibiki start things off? It certainly seems that way; during his connection with Uta in her bubble form, he unintentionally enrages the bubbles, which results in the explosion and floods.

The city forces families to relocate. But, because they have nowhere else to go, the orphaned children start living in Tokyo illegally. They engage in risky parkour competitions while leveraging Tokyo’s unpredictable gravity.

What desires Uta? Why did she adopt a human appearance?

The Little Mermaid’s tail is depicted in the movie Bubble from the boy’s (the prince’s) viewpoint. Hibiki can still hear the music coming from the tower, which was the blast’s epicentre five years prior, years after it occurred. He tries to ascend there, but the disordered gravity knocks him down, and he plunges into the water. Uta pursues him and joins forces with Hibiki’s breath bubble to transform into a person and save him.

After that, Uta’s desire to become human can be compared to that of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, although in this tale, Hibiki’s love is not absent. In reality, Hibiki’s encounters with Uta help him transform from a morose character to a joyful one. He even gives her a name before telling Uta he loves her.

Uta, however, is unable to come close to Hibiki. Each time she does so, a portion of her becomes foam. Uta loses an arm in the closing seconds of the Morticians’ parkour challenge. Uta appears to have struck a deal to stay with humans for a set period of time, similar to how the Little Mermaid was given a year to live on land. She has run out of time, and the bubbles are upset that she hasn’t returned.

Tokyo floods once more.

Tokyo starts to drown once more as a result of the bubbles’ rage, exactly like it did five years ago. The Hibiki squad departs in a boat. On their way out, they pick up Hibiki and the Morticians. In response to Hibiki’s announcement that Uta must be rescued from the tower, his squad joins him. As a token of appreciation for saving them, the Morticians give them their hydraulic boots. The group uses parkour to climb the tower and reach Hibiki beyond the cloud.

Explanation ending of the anime Bubble

In the Bubble anime, Uta makes a self-sacrifice to save Hibiki. Uta treasures the time she spent with Hibiki and the fact that her human heart was able to experience joy, suffering, and genuine love. She passes away, but she transforms into the air’s daughter and continues to live near Hibiki in an ethereal form.

Uta is caught by her sister at the tower, who seems to be pleading with her to go back to the bubble world. Other bubbles assault Hibiki and glow crimson. Uta observes Hibiki’s demise and is well aware that touching him will result in his death. However, she dives to help Hibiki, who follows her while dodging the attacking bubbles. Uta recognises and expresses gratitude in her last moments for having had the opportunity to experience love while she was a human, even if it was only briefly. Hibiki is left crying as Uta transforms into foam and floats away, saying “Thank you.” Apparently because Uta is no longer human and isn’t communicating with Hibiki, the bubbles stop attacking.

The gravitational anomaly and enormous bubble that had been swallowing Tokyo are now gone, as can be seen after this. As soon as Hibiki and Uta removed physical contact, it appears that the bubbles reverted to their previous friendly behaviour. Five years ago, the first explosion occurred while Uta (in her bubble form) and Hibiki were in close proximity at the tower. After that, just Tokyo continued to be surrounded by a huge bubble and was swamped. As Uta remained too close to Hibiki physically, the same flooding incident occurred again. She loses her human shape and proximity to Hibiki after she turns to foam, which causes the enormous bubble to break and Tokyo’s gravity to return to normal.

In the anime Bubble’s climactic scenes, we see Tokyo being rebuilt, and Hibiki has completely changed into a team player who now smiles. Uta, a daughter of the air, is always by Hibiki’s side.
