Upside Down| A Synopsis of the Film
The movie is about the seemingly impossible romance between Adam (Jim Sturgess) and Eden (Kirsten Dunst). Adam is from Down Below, while Eden lives Up Top; they are star-crossed lovers based on two inverted worlds with different gravitational pulls. As the titles suggest, the people of the Down Below are oppressed by those in the Up Top and live in filth. The Transworld tower, which is owned and run by the powerful, affluent business Transworld, is the sole recognised physical intersection between the two worlds. The company assumes the role of the stereotypical antagonist who opposes love and humanity. The people in charge are snobbish, exploitative, and cruel to the people in the Lower Levels.

After ten years, Adam is developing an inverse matter-based anti-gravity serum that he intends to sell as a beauty cream. He stumbles across a TV broadcast that informs him that Eden is still alive and employed by Transworld as fate’s mystifying enchantment takes effect. He enters the capitalist corporation with his incomplete but promising anti-gravity serum and makes an effort to make contact with the love of his life. Another employee named Bob (Timothy Spall), who serves as a mentor-like older friend, assists him. Eden’s amnesia is unnecessarily brought on by the accident.
The movie picks up speed as Adam risks everything to win back his love. He steals from Transworld, nearly burns up using inverse matter, somersaults into a river, and is almost apprehended by the Up Top authorities in several sequences, demonstrating his tenacity and passionate love. When Eden begins to recall him, the insane efforts are successful.
Soon later, they reunite at the spot where they used to meet and eat pomegranates and pink jam (made from the pollen of the pink bees). Authorities arrive once more, but this time, Eden is the one taken into custody while Adam escapes with severe injuries from the scuffle.

The Upside Down movie’s conclusion depicts a new universe in which there is more interaction between residents of the two worlds. It enhances the lives of future generations and delivers prosperity to the Lower World.
Turned Around| Conflict in the Plot
Although the film’s visuals are stunning, they cannot make up for the fact that the entire premise is flawed. A science-fiction movie should undoubtedly leave you with some unanswered questions and a small amount of perplexity, but Upside Down largely fails to make sense.
mediocre love story
Romeo and Juliet-style romance is promised in the idea, but it is not delivered. Dunst and Sturgess’ on-screen chemistry is uninteresting. The relationship does not progress; it simply exists, like a bare rock on a deserted landscape. They don’t explain their attraction to one another or what they admire about one another. They simply exchange whispered phrases and wincing smiles when speaking to one another. Although our leads’ stories just hint at epic love, the way they risk their lives for one another does.
Adam behaves like a narcissistic teenager who doesn’t care about his life, and as a result of his actions, Eden is often put in danger. He always concocts weak schemes that are unsuccessful. Eden’s amnesia causes her to have a particular sadness and emptiness that is the only depth of character you get to see in her. According to Dunst, Eden prefers to live in the moment and seize every chance because she is missing a significant portion of her life.
Although Sturgess and Dunst are both excellent actors, their decision to appear in this movie temporarily cast a cloud over their careers. Eden gives him a vacuous smile the entire movie while Adam makes pointless attempts to date her.
Insufficient Character Development
The society, economic classes, availability of resources, social position, and social mobility all have an impact on the characters’ operating and interacting schemas. Only in the very beginning of the movie are there instances of it to be seen. There wasn’t much character development in the course of the roughly two hours.
