At the beginning of the film, a man is shown who has suffered a loss in his business
and is so concerned about it that he returns home and takes his daughters with him.
Then he makes them sit in the car and drives away.
He was driving fast and his elder daughter “Victoria” was forbidding him from driving fast,
he ignores his daughter, and his car is involved in an accident.
Now the scene shifts to that man’s brother, “Lucas,” who was questioning the cops about his brother.
That man is shown whose car got into an accident, but he escaped with his daughters.
He moves to a house built in the middle of the forest with his daughters,
but “Victoria” believes there is someone in this house.She tells her father,
but he doesn’t believe her and asks her to come inside because it was snowing and cold outside.
The man was looking worried and then his daughter “Victoria” calls him
and tells him that she has seen something outside.
The man approaches his daughter, and he is about to shoot her and end her life,
but a creature attacks and kills him, and “Victoria” is unaware of this.
Her father had removed her glasses just as he was about to kill her, so she couldn’t see anything clearly.
Now the girls were alone in the house, which was deserted and terrible,
and “Victoria” sits at a place with her younger sister while a cherry falls nearby,
making her happy because they were both hungry.
Later, a scene is shown where “Lucas” is still looking for his brother after 5 years.
Meanwhile, he receives a call from a man to whom he has given money to find his brother.
Now they reach “Lucas” brother’s” car and make dogs smell his daughters’ toys
after it, they reach that house and find that man’s daughters there, who are still alive but have turned wild.
They were taken to the hospital, and when “Lucas” arrives with his friend,
the doctor informs him that the girls’ condition is critical.
The doctor claims that “Victoria” did not forget to speak,
but that her younger sister, who had no idea she could speak, has gone insane.
Now “Lucas” enters the room to meet “Victoria,” but she doesn’t notice him at first,
when he gives her glasses to wear, she considers “Lucas” her father
because “Lucas” was a twin of “Victoria”s” father.
Following that, the girls’ doctor testified in court that their health was fine
and that they could now live with them because “Lucas” was their father’s brother.
Furthermore, the doctor explains that because the girls had been alone for 5 years,
they created a caretaker in their minds, whom they named “Mama,” so they would not feel alone.
They are linked to “Mama,” and they will be fine if they receive love and care.
Now that “Victoria” and her younger sister have moved in with “Lucas,”
one day while “Victoria’s” sister was playing in the room, “Lucas” friend comes to her while hearing her.
Meanwhile, “Victoria” arrives and informs “Lucas” friend that our dog is weeping outside;
however, if “Victoria” was outside, who was her younger sister playing with?
“Lucas” was in the room with his friend one night when they felt someone’s presence outside
and she asked “Lucas” to check who was outside”Lucas” moves to check but finds nothing,
so they begin searching the house.
When his friend moves to the girls’ room to check,
they were sleeping, but “Lucas” notices a strange black mark on the wall.
Strange insects were coming out of it, and when he moved closer to inspect it,
a ghost appeared from that mark and pushed “Lucas,” causing him to fall down,
and as a result, he fell from the stairs and was injured.
She was concerned as his friend drove him to the hospital.
She tells the doctor about the girls, and the doctor tells
her that she now has to care for them because “Lucas” is in coma.
“Annabel” returns home and notices the strange drawings made by the girls;
she calls the doctor and shows him the drawing.
Following that, while hypnotizing her, the doctor asks her about “Mama,”
and he asks her about the doll she keeps with her always.
“Victoria” tells the doctor that this doll was made by “Mama,”
and the doctor believes that “Victoria” calls herself “Mama,” and she must have made this doll.
“Annabel” leaves after making them sleep, but “Victoria’s” younger sister awakens and says,
“Wake up, look, “Mama” arrives so come let’s play,” but “Annabel” suspects them and returns to their room,
but she finds no one except for them and asks them to sleep because it was late.
The next day, “Annabel” goes to the doctor and tells him
that she hears someone singing a lullaby for them from their room at night.
“Annabel,” the doctor says I believe she has a personality disorder,
in which a person begins to live two separate lives.
Here, the doctor discovers that the lady whose story “Victoria” told him 20 years ago
means that the story “Victoria” told about “Mama” was true.
The doctor discovers that the lady was insane after discovering her belongings.
On the other hand, “Annabel,” who was alone at home, feels someone’s presence at home
as she comes out of her room, a terrible shadow appears behind her but disappears when she turns around.
“Lucas” was having dreams about his brother,
who was pleading with him to save his daughters while moving to that house,
“Lucas” condition deteriorated until the doctors arrived and saved him while completing his treatment on time.
“Lucas” comes to his senses, and the next day, “Annabel” goes to see “Lucas” at the hospital with the girls.
They see the same insects that were on the house’s wall
and were brutally eaten by “Victoria’s” younger sister.
“Annabel” brings the girls home and moves them to “Victoria,”
but she says don’t treat us like this because “Mama” is jealous and I don’t want “Mama” to harm you.
Now the doctor hypnotizes “Victoria” again and asks her a question while showing her a picture of that insane lady,
which he got from her luggage, but “Victoria” doesn’t say anything and asks them to leave.
Meanwhile, the doctor notices a strange shadow on the wall, and now everything seems strange to him,
so he moves to the house where “Victoria” has been living with her sister for the last 5 years to investigate.
“Annabel,” on the other hand, has a dream while sleeping in her house in which she sees a “Nun”
who was ended by a lady and escaped while stealing a baby from the church
but the lady got stuck there because she couldn’t see any path, which is why she jumped from a hill with that baby.
Meanwhile, “Annabel” wakes up and notices someone in her room, and a ghost scares her.
”Annabel” becomes terrified.
On the other hand, “Victoria’s” younger sister awakens her when she sees “Mama”,
she becomes happy while saying, “Look, “Mama” has arrived,” but “Victoria” refuses to accompany “Mama”.
The doctor who entered that house discovered the location on the wall
from which the “Mama” ghost moved to “Annabel’s” house.Meanwhile, the doctor’s torch goes out,
and he begins photographing “Mama” with his camera, but “Mama” attacks the doctor
as a result, and the doctor dies on the spot.
“Victoria’s” younger sister who went with “Mama” at night sleeping outside
meanwhile, “Annabel” lifts her and takes her inside but she was beating “Annabel” but she somehow agrees her.
“Annabel” senses something in the girl’s room once more.
She feels that someone is in their house, but when she checks, she notices something is going inside the cupboard,
and when she checks the cupboard, there was that black mark on the wall, so she tries to call the doctor.
“Mama” terminated the doctor, and then “Annabel” visits his clinic to meet the doctor, but she cannot find him,
so she takes the related items to the girls and returns home.
“Lucas” is also fine now, and “Annabel” is reviewing the videos she brought from the doctor’s clinic.
After watching the videos, she realizes that “Mama” is real and the story “Victoria” told the doctor was true.
She becomes depressed and feels bad after hearing that
those girls had many problems in the previous 5 years.
The night arrives, and “Lucas” calls “Annabel,” but she does not answer his call.
“Victoria,” along with her younger sister, was also relocating to “Annabel.”
They see “Mama” on the way, and “Victoria’s” sister is pleased to see “Mama”.
“Mama” suddenly approaches them, but “Victoria’s” sister locks herself in the room and leaves “Victoria” outside.
Meanwhile, “Annabel” arrives and they open the door together, leaving “Victoria” sister terrified.
They see “Mama,” who was slithering on the wall and it looked terrible,
so they run being scared, but “Mama,” caught “Annabel,”
and “Victoria,” says you promised me you wouldn’t say anything to “Annabel,”.
Hearing this, she moves towards “Victoria,” breaking her glasses in the process.
Meanwhile, their aunt arrives, and seeing her aunt “Victoria,” change into “Mama,” means “Mama’s” ghost moves in her.
“Mama” now makes “Annabel” faint while attacking her, and there is no one in the house when she comes to her senses.
She calls out “Lucas” and walks towards the house where the girls used to live.
“Lucas” appears in front of “Annabel’s” car and inquires about his brother’s daughters,
to which she replies that “Mama” has taken them.
They arrived at that house but there was no one,
so they went outside and found the girls sitting on a hill with “Mama.”
They approach them, but upon hearing their voices, “Mama” calls the girls near her,
and they approach “Mama,” but “Lucas” stops them.
“Mama” attacks “Lucas” and is about to kill him when she notices “Annabel,” who is holding a small bay,
“Mama” becomes sad.She takes the baby from “Annabel,” but when she removes the cloth, there is no baby, only a skull.
When she sees this, she becomes depressed and begins to cry,
and then she hears the voice of “Victoria’s” younger sister, who was calling her “Mama.”
“Lucas” insists on taking them with him, and “Mama” attacks him,
then asks “Victoria” and her sister to accompany her.
“Victoria” was leaving while saying good-bye to “Annabel,”
but “Annabel” doesn’t want “Victoria” to leave and holds her hand,
which is why “Victoria” leaves “Mama’s” hand, which means ”I don’t want to leave”.
Now “Mama” has taken “Victoria’s” younger sister with her and jumps into a ditch with her, leaving “Victoria”.
Her sister was no longer alive. Her father wanted to end his daughters at first,
but a ghost ended him, and that ghost was of “Mama,” the lady about whom the doctor discovered.
“Mama” was the soul of the lady who lost her children 100 years ago,
and she sees her children in “Victoria” and her sister, which is why she used to look after them,
and she didn’t like it when “Annabel” and “Lucas” came between her and her children.
“Lucas” only saved “Victoria,” and her younger sister chose “Mama” because she was attached to “Mama,”
and she considers “Mama Ghost” her best friend.
“Mama” and “Victoria’s” younger sister are now living together.
This is where the movie ends.
