Tammy Sytch, better known by her ring name Sunny, was sentenced to 17 years in jail for her role in a DUI vehicle accident that killed a 75-year-old man in Florida last year.

The accident happened in March 2022 when Sytch's automobile collided with Julian LaFrancis Lasseter's car. At the scene, Lasseter was pronounced deceased.

In August, Sytch pled no guilty to DUI manslaughter, driving with a suspended licence causing death, and DUI causing serious bodily damage.

She received a 10.5-year jail term for DUI causing death and a seven-year prison sentence for driving with a suspended licence causing death. The sentences will run in parallel.

Sytch will spend eight years of probation in addition to her jail term. Her driver's licence will also be suspended for life.

Michael J. Scudieri, Sytch's attorney, stated that Sytch is "deeply remorseful" for her acts. "She knows that she made a terrible mistake and she takes full responsibility for her actions," she added.

The sentencing was "pleased" by Laffeter's family. "We hope that this sentence sends the message that drunk driving will not be tolerated," stated the family in a statement.
